Advent Course Fridays in Advent 8.15-9.00pm
This takes place every Friday during Advent (End of November - Week before Christmas) and usually takes place in the Lady Chapel. The course takes the form of a short service followed by an activity such as a tape, video or discussion. Each year there is a theme that is followed week by week. The course is directed by the vicar.
Annual events
The following events take place annually:-
- Carol Singing - every Christmas the Friendship Group provide a carol service at Abbey Gate residential home for the elderly, where some of our members are resident.
This is usually followed by a light tea at the house with the residents.

- Christmas Fair - in the hall, and back of the church.
Santa Claus usually pays a visit and can be met in his grotto.
- The Christingle Service - this delightful service aimed at children
takes place a little before Christmas each year. Proceeds from
the service and from the Christingle collection boxes are donated
to the Children's Society and the Methodist Children's homes.

- Dedication Sunday - this takes place each year in the summer, and the service is usually held outdoors on the vicarage lawn. Weather permitting it is preceded by a strawberry cream tea.
- Open Air service and Cream Tea

- Friendship Club Trip - this takes place every summer. Last year the trip included shopping and lunch in Tiverton, followed by tea on board a trip along the canal on a horse-drawn barge.

- Harvest Supper - for all the church members and their friends and family, this takes place near Harvest Sunday, held usually in October. It is always followed by entertainment in the form of puzzles, a quiz, games, humorous sketches, barn dances or a sing-a-long.

- New Year's Day Service and Lunch - in the church each New Year's Day, followed by entertainment.
- New Year's meal - an evening meal at Dauncey's Hotel Weston Super Mare followed by entertainment.
- Saint Andrew's Day supper - this takes place on St Andrew's Day and is always followed by entertainment.

- School Services - at Christmas and Harvest Bournville Infants and Bournvillle Junior Schools have their school services in church. They are always exceptionally well attended.

- Shrove Tuesday Fish and Chip supper - this takes place on the day before Lent and is always followed by entertainment in the form of puzzles, a quiz, games, humorous sketches, barn dances or a sing-a-long.
- Summer Fair - in the hall, grounds and back of the church.

- Summer Trip - the whole church is invited each year on a trip. Last year the trip was to Forde Abbey for the day followed by tea and evening worship at Castle Cary Methodist Church.
- Valentine's Day Service and social evening, called "Lovesnacks" - every Valentines Day from 6.30 - 7.30 to thank God for love - enough time left afterwards to go out for that romantic meal!
Baptisms Sundays 12.00noon
Baptisms and baptism preparation is by arrangement with the vicar. Sometimes baptism takes place within the normal morning worship. However, this time is set aside for those preferring a more private service.
Brownies Mondays from 6.00pm
Rainbow guides meet in the church hall from 6.00pm. Brownies also meet from 6.45 and guides from 7.00pm.
Coffee Morning Each Tuesday 10.30am -12 noon
The coffee morning takes place in the church hall. As well as a coffee
morning there is usually a cake sale and bring - and - buy sale. Betty
Webber is the organiser, and although this event is primarily for
fellowship it also provides much needed funds for the church mission
in the community.
Table-Top Sale 2nd Saturday in the month, 10.00am
This takes place in the church hall every month, and, as well as being
a good social occasion is the source of a great deal of fund-raising for
the church. Co-ordinated by Howard Cooper the sale includes a bric-and-brac stall, book stall, clothes and cakes.
Friendship group barge trip
Friendship Club 1st Wednesday each month
This group is primarily aimed at young and middle-aged adults who meet monthly for fun and friendship, but older and younger members are welcomed. Activities include treasure hunts, quizzes, trips and visiting speakers and is always accompanied by light refreshments. Mike and Lesley Taylor are the co-ordinators.
Ladies' Group 3rd Wednesday each month
This group is primarily aimed at ladies who meet monthly for fun and friendship. Meetings are always accompanied by light refreshments. Jenny Brinson is the co-ordinator.
Lent Course Thursdays in Lent 7.30-9.00pm
This takes place every Thursday during Lent (the six weeks prior to Easter) and usually takes place in the Lady Chapel. The course takes the form of a short service followed by an activity such as a tape, video or discussion. Each year there is a theme that is followed week by week. The course is directed by the vicar.
Methodist Men's Supper Club Monthly on Mondays at 7.30pm
This takes place at Victoria Methodist Church and is supported by St Andrew's members as part of the same Methodist Circuit. The meal consists of soup and a roll, a main course, pudding and tea or coffee. A guest speaker talks to the group after supper on various subjects, some religious and some secular. Network Each Tuesday 2.15pm
Ladies' Fellowship but will welcomes men as well as women in its membership. Organised by Gwen Cox
Peace Support Group Tuesdays 7.00pm
This was set up originally to pray for soldiers in service in the Falklands War as many of the church members and local community had family serving in conflict. Nowadays the evening involves a short service and prayer meeting praying especially for peace across the world. Betty Webber is the co-ordinator for this activity, and leads the service alternately with the vicar and other occasional leaders.
Prayer Meetings Tuesdays at 10.00am
These takes place in church each week and last approximately half an hour under the leadership of the vicar.
Sandringham Court Communion Last Thursday each month
Home communion is offered at this sheltered housing complex each month by the vicar. The service starts at 4.30pm and lasts approximately half an hour.
Second Monday Second Monday in the month at 7.00pm
The "Second Monday" home group meets at the vicarage. The evening consists of fellowship, a meal and Bible Study in the form of quizzes, games, video and other enjoyable activities. John Guttridge is the host and Bethan Guttridge (vicar) organises the activities.
Sunday School Every Sunday at 10.00am
The Sunday school meets in the church at the start of each service before going off to do their own activities. Bible stories are told, refreshments are provided and lots of practical activities including craft, painting, singing and drama. Each year the Sunday School visits the Diocesan Children's Festival at Wells.
Tots and Toddlers Every Wednesday 1pm - 3pm
This group is primarily aimed at young mothers and
their babies and toddlers, for fun and friendship. It is
run by Marilyn Difford and takes place in the church
hall.
Weddings Saturdays by arrangement
Weddings take place in the church on Saturdays by
arrangement with the vicar
